Atlanta custom home builder Blake Shaw is a native of Lilburn, Ga. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 2000 with a degree in communications. Blake's family has roots in the construction industry. His father owned a commercial construction company for over 30 years before his brother took over the business.

Prior to starting Blake Shaw Homes, Shaw spent two years as a mortgage loan officer. His love of historic architecture led him to start Blake Shaw Homes in January 2004. The initial goal was to start building luxury new homes in Atlanta that had some of the character of the older homes that are found in Buckhead, Brookhaven, and around the city. In 2007 Shaw began remodeling/renovating homes to capitalize on a strong in town Atlanta market for remodeling and to be able to renovate and restore the great old homes that had originally inspired him to begin Blake Shaw Homes.

Shaw lives with his wife, Catherine, and their two dogs, Shelby and Greta, in the Brookhaven area of Atlanta. He is a member of North Point Community Church in Alpharetta. In his spare time, Shaw enjoys touring architecturally significant historic homes around the south, playing golf, going on mini-vacations with his wife and having cookouts with family and friends.
